Methods

We will be able to offer training for any modules for which training is needed. As our new scheme gets up to speed these will be offered to you in a variety of methods. Until then we will put on a series of short courses (one day, or afternoon or evening) to help you along the way. It is anticipated that you could be offered e-learning, videos, workbooks, 1:1 sessions and small and large group work to facilitate your learning.

Modules

The new Woodbadge training consists of various modules which you, together with your Training Adviser, have decided are necessary for your particular role in Scouting. These will not be the same for everyone. Your past experience and qualifications will have been taken into account, thus avoiding unnecessary training sessions, as we know that all our leaders are leading very full lives already.

Validation

All modules will need to be validated, so we and the external body, know that you can do what you say you can. You have a say in how and when this is done. It may be observing you run a meeting (or part of one), asking you questions, watching your video or through a third party.

Qualification

The new training will carry an external qualification - more details as it becomes available.

As new sessions become available details will be posted here, so keep checking these pages to find out what is on offer for you.

*Refresher 1st Response – Only for holders of current 1st Response Certificate (towards the end of the 3 year period to ensure continued qualification.)

*Refresher Child Protection – For longer serving leaders who may not have undertaken CP training or who wish to update themselves with the latest CP issues.

(Packed lunch required for leaders who undertake both refresher courses held on same day).
