YouShape Training – Sunday 17th October (1.30 pm – 3.00 pm)

Module 25A Assessors – Sunday 17th October (Start 9.30 am – 12.30 pm)

Please book your space now to avoid missing out by emailing  county.office@gmwscouts.org.uk with your full name/role/group/district specifying which course you require and the date you wish to attend.  Once your booking has been accepted you will receive a confirmation email. 

 FIRST RESPONSE

This learning opportunity is The Scouts First Response course which covers all the required content to validate your First Response module in My Learning.

The course runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm and will include a mixture of practical activities and discussion. We will provide the resources and equipment required to complete this learning opportunity. We will also validate your module on My Learning after completion.

Please bring a packed lunch with you and a reusable hot drinks cup and water bottle. We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day and there is plenty of water on tap.

  • Not sure if you need to complete this learning? This learning needs to be completed by all Section Team volunteers, Group Lead Volunteers, and 14-24 Team Leaders. For more information about First Response and other Growing Roots learning for your role, please click here.
  • Does this learning need to be renewed? Yes, if your role requires the learning you must complete the course every three years.

 

SKILLS FOR RESIDENTIAL EXPERIENCES – INDOOR (NIGHTS AWAY COURSE)

This learning opportunity gives volunteers the knowledge they need to go away and complete their Nights Away Permit. This part of the course covers the administration related to nights away, and therefore is perfect for those wanting to do an Indoor Permit. If you are also looking to learn some practical skills, please take a look at our two-day Outdoor course. 

The course runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm. We will provide the resources and equipment required to complete this learning opportunity.

Please bring a packed lunch with you and a reusable hot drinks cup and water bottle. We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day and there is plenty of water on tap. Some of the course will be outdoors, so please dress appropriately.

There are limited spaces available on this workshop. Please book your space now to avoid missing out.

For volunteers completing learning over both days during this weekend, accommodation is available (indoor or camping, depending on availability). We can provide you with an evening meal on the Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on the Sunday if you are staying over. Please bring a packed lunch for the Saturday.

This learning opportunity gives volunteers the knowledge they need to go away and complete their Nights Away Permit. The course covers the administration related to nights away and the practical elements of running a nights away experience. This course is perfect for those wanting to undertake their Campsite Nights Away Permit, or someone wanting to do an Indoor Nights Away Permit but brush up on some practical skills too.

The course runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm on both days. We will provide the resources and equipment required to complete this learning opportunity. There is the option to stay over, please find below more information about accommodation or you can travel both days from home.

Please bring a packed lunch with you and a reusable hot drinks cup and water bottle. We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day and there is plenty of water on tap. A large amount of the course will be outdoors, so please dress appropriately.

MODULE 25A FOR LEARNING ASSESSORS (9.30am – 12.30pm) this covers the learning required to become a Learning Assessor to support other volunteers with their learning.  Please speak to your District Lead Volunteer or Volunteering Development Team Leader before booking onto the course.
