The Jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure, bringing together tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world. It’s an incredible opportunity for young people to grow in confidence, make global friendships, and experience new cultures.
The World Scout Jamboree will take place close to the city of Gdańsk, on the coast of the Baltic Sea in Poland from the 30th July to the 8th August 2027, there could be some travel and pre/post-events either side of these dates depending on the units plans.
To participate as a youth participant, individuals must be between 14 and 17 years old at the time of the event. This means they should have been born between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013.
In Greater Manchester West, we have a unique opportunity to work with Cumbria, East Lancashire and Greater Manchester North to make up our combined three units. Young people will be allocated to one of four patrols across those three units with other young people from their District. Each District is allocated a number of spaces to give each young person to fairest chance of being selected.
The selection process is not just about the most confident or most experienced – it’s about finding a group of young people who together will grow and thrive as part of their Unit.
The initial deposit is £500 which is expected to be paid at the end of October shortly after selection, however the County Trustee Board have kindly agreed a deposit contribution of £150 per young person to reduce this cost to £350 per young person.
The total cost is expected to be around £3,500-£3,600 per person covering the Jamboree fee, training events and merchandise. We strongly encourage fundraising and approaching your Group and District to see if they can provide any support. There will also be a number of Unit Fundraising Opportunities to participate in.

Applications are open from now and will close at 8pm on Sunday 28th September 2025. We are expecting more applications than we have spaces, therefore young people will then be invited to a selection event on either Saturday 11th or Sunday 12th October 2025.
